“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works.” – Ephesians 2:10 “He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as engravers, designers, embroiderers…” – Exodus 35:35
Opening Reflection
When God first appears in scripture, He is creating. This creative nature isn’t just a divine attribute—it’s part of our spiritual DNA. We are made in the image of the Creator, and every act of creativity, whether writing, cooking, problem-solving, or crafting, echoes His creative heart.
Meditation
Creativity isn’t just for artists—it’s a divine attribute we all share. The Hebrew word for create, “bara,” appears in Genesis as God’s special activity. Yet throughout scripture, we see God inviting humans to participate in creative acts: Bezalel crafting the tabernacle, David composing psalms, Solomon writing proverbs.
When we create, we participate in a sacred act that connects us to the Divine Artist. Our creative expressions, whether through traditional arts or innovative solutions to daily challenges, reflect God’s nature and continue His work of bringing beauty and order to the world.
